Bentley worth £167,000 towed by police as it ‘had no insurance’

An uninsured Bentley driver who refused to hand over his keys could only watch as police dragged his £167,000 car and onto the back of a recovery truck.

The motorist left his luxury vehicle in a suspended parking bay outside the Peaky Blinders in Manchester city centre.

Police said the car did not have insurance and when the owner was tracked down in a nearby bar he refused to give them his keys.

They said it appeared as though he didn’t believe they would take his Bentley Continental GT away.

GMP tweeted: ‘How wrong, car was dragged onto back of recovery truck. #NoInsurance.’

A recovery vehicle was summoned and the car was taken away to a police compound.
