Lamborghini became the first automaker to include integrated Alexa controls with the new Huracán EVO.
Amazon Alexa will see its fair share of use in newer vehicles, with the electric Rivian and new Lamborghini pioneering the lineup. Owners of the 2020 Huracán Evo will have access to all of the voice recognition capabilities of Alexa. Phone calls, temperature adjustments, and changing the music are just a phrase away with this technology.
Certain automakers such as BMW and Audi have been working to add some degree of Alexa functionality to their vehicles. While some only work for cloud-based features or via the Alexa app, models such as the Huracán EVO will have native integration with the vehicle’s main controls.

Here’s what you need to know about the collaboration between Amazon and Lamborghini and what it will mean for the consumer.
The Rise Of Amazon Alexa Integration
Amidst a rise in vehicles with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Amazon seeks to widely implement its Alexa technology in the consumer auto market. Lamborghini became the first automaker to include integrated Alexa controls with the new Huracán EVO. Amazon’s fully electric delivery vans, along with the Rivian R1T electric pickup, will also incorporate these features.
A variety of additional manufacturers have already commenced implementation of some Alexa features in their vehicles. According to vice president of Alexa Auto Ned Curic, “Our vision is for Alexa to become a natural, intuitive part of the driving experience, and Lamborghini has embraced that by integrating Alexa directly into its onboard infotainment systems.”
Even if you don’t own one of the few models featuring native software, the Echo Auto can be added to almost any vehicle to provide Alexa services. Although the technology is still being perfected, its use can have a multitude of benefits in addition to user satisfaction. In a world where distracted driving is a major cause of fatal accidents, hands-free communication and control can possibly make driving a safer experience for many on the road.
A New Feature For The 2020 Huracán Evo
The new 2020 Huracán EVO with Alexa integration made its debut at CES 2020. Equipped with a V10, it makes 630 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. Both an all-wheel and recently revealed rear-wheel drive version will be offered.
Consumers can delight in advanced voice recognition and frequent improvements to the Alexa system. The technology is fused with Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata technology, which plays a role in the driving dynamics of the supercar.
Human Machine Interface technology will allow Alexa to receive consistent updates. The system can be prompted to change variables such as lighting, temperature, and adjustments to the heated seats. Users can also make phone calls, get news updates, or ask for directions to various locales.
Along with basic in-car functionality, Alexa can be integrated with the users’ home technologies. Thermostats, interior lighting, and home entry gates are just some of the smart home features that can be controlled with the Alexa system. Soon, Alexa will be able to process additional conveniences. If you’ve created an Amazon Pay account, simply saying “Alexa, pay for gas” at an Exxon or Mobil gas station will complete an electronic transaction.
